[5] Supplement to Chapter Three “Deaths and Their Causes”


Being in possession of the figures regarding the number of deaths in late May of this year, we can present the mortality dynamics for the entire month of May. It appears as follows:

Early May — 975 deaths

Mid-May — 1,428 deaths

Late May — 1,408 deaths

On average in late May the daily number of deaths among Jews was 140.8. During the entire month of May the number of deaths among Jews amounted to 3,811, with an average number of 127 deaths per day. In relation to the approximate total population of Jewish Warsaw the percentage of deaths is 0.84, rapidly nearing 1 percent a month—a figure anticipated in the report we have submitted.
