Deaths — 346

Percentage of deaths in relation to new admissions — 24.4 percent

In comparison with May, when the mortality rate was 26.5 percent, this was just a slight and rather accidental improvement.

To sum up the discussion on deaths and the mortality rate in the Jewish district in Warsaw, it should be stated that:

1) Neither the feeding campaign nor the (moderate) lowering of food prices on the free market has stopped the overall increase in the number of deaths during the report month, with those deaths being caused, as before, by starvation-related exhaustion.

2) Even if the decreased fluctuations in the mortality rate dynamics “stabilise” at the current level, the absolute number of deaths will continue to increase.

3) Even though the relevant effects of the feeding campaign might become visible only after some time, we can already conclude that its scope is insufficient on account of it being only short-term and the fact that is does not affect the overall everyday food supply of the district.
