I began my duty as early as on 1 September. I kept watch at Hoża Street 37 at night. The organisation of the building was good. Most LOP members were Jews who performed their duties particularly conscientiously. We kept watch on the roof, upon which we poured water, and we watched out for any bombs or fires in the area. We were the busiest after the wooden building of the Central Station caught fire and sparks began falling on the nearby buildings. Our building was in danger, but thanks to our efforts no fire broke out. Then the building opposite ours, that is number 54, caught fire. Its entire LOP board, all Aryans, were heavily intoxicated.
