The facts presented closely follow the women’s confessions.

[3] Today—with [the war] underway—it is difficult to provide a comprehensive and objective evaluation of the role of the Jewish woman in shaping our war-time reality. Such an evaluation can be done from a historical perspective. My direct observations and my analysis of the facts of their lives allow only certain general conclusions. One thing seems undeniable: this war has predestined the Jewish woman to be the provider of life, and the overall balance of her achievements and contributions [in this] is positive.
