This article makes no claims to be a strictly scientific study, nor to presenting a complete overview of the economic history of the Warsaw ghetto; it does not take into account—when it comes to the latter point—the activity of the official bodies in the ghetto economy. Such activity is barely addressed in this study, as it will, as a whole, be the subject of a separate work.486

Rather, this study is a collection of observations and facts gathered by the author as source materials, and discussed as systematically as possible.
