My comments on the Jewish youth and their spiritual attitude before and during the war are based on observations made primarily in the course of seven years of my work as a teacher in secondary schools from the 1934/5 to the 1938/9 school year, as well as during secret classes in the years 1939–42. I have been in contact with quite diverse groups.
