I exchanged my apartment with a Christian woman from Śliska Street. But when the latter wanted to take over my apartment, it turned out that D. had received a requisition permit for my apartment from the Brühl Palace. Inasmuch as the Brühl Palace proved to be more powerful than the accommodation office, I didn’t have any choice but to rent another apartment for the Christian woman somewhere. [5] For D. this appeared to be a fitting moment to become the mistress of her very own apartment, and indeed, she inherited it from me.

As I was afraid that I could be asked to leave my apartment empty-handed, I moved my furniture over, in time, to another street, which was not subject to the forced removal. But as it happened, they were looking for something there and, as bad luck would have it, they found my possessions, which were requisitioned. Not having any choice, I turned to D., who released my things.

D. is still living in my apartment to this day. She is employed in an ammunition factory.
