The Anti-Epidemic Company754 has a special task. During the disinfection of a house, their objective is to move all tenants out for a bath, as well as to lock the gate, that is, not to let anyone in or out. Last year (1941), constables earned good money on such occasions, taking 1–5 zlotys [20] per person for letting people in or out of a locked house, depending on the wealth level of the building; now, since the sanitary operation was limited, those earnings have significantly decreased. Also, those in charge of the Anti-Epidemic Service earned a lot because they would warn a house that there would be fumigation the following day, giving tenants an opportunity to hide sheets, linens, etc.

District constables make a lot of money. They are mostly lawyers, attorneys, and, depending on their energy and ingenuity, they charge each shop various fixed fees. Shops are usually forced to pay such a tribute, not wanting such a district constable to cause them problems. A district constable can harass a shop all the time: whether it is because they are open later than seven in the evening, or because they sell white bread, sugar, butter, etc.755 Recently there was a dispute between a district constable and regular constables. It concerned the following issue: flour was smuggled at night over the wall on Bonifraterska Street and later taken to a house at Franciszkańska Street 21 [21]. The district constable demanded that the smugglers pay not the constables, but him only, because that was his area. Finally the constables won, but the district officer also got his share. In wealthier neighbourhoods, district constables make really good money.

The Order Service organised childcare, establishing a number of centres for street children.756 Resources to support these centres are obtained as follows: the Order Service sends calls to wealthy Jews and, if they refuse to pay a fee voluntarily, they are brought to the Region and kept there until they finally pay the required sum.
