The Jews of Wawer were also driven out on 26 March. The Germans
allowed carts to be used for the children and the sick. There were three fatalities.
The gendarmes engaged in beatings along the way.⁵³⁰
Miłosna⁵³¹ (near Warsaw)
On the morning of 27 March they started to “evacuate” the Jews of
Miłosna. The people there already knew about the horrors that had befallen
the Jews in Okuniew. At six o’clock in the morning the Jews of Miłosna assembled
in the town square with their luggage. They were divided into three
groups: men, women and children. The Germans did the segregating. Then
the Germans robbed all the Jews, shooting the wealthy merchant, Shimen
Zylberman, on the spot because they found five zlotys hidden on his person.
After that, the march to Warsaw began. The carts with the children went in
front, followed by the women, and finally the men.⁵³²
Wąwolnica (near Kazimierz)⁵³³ – Lublin area
In mid-March the persecution of Jews began in Wąwolnica. A bell was
rung to inform the Jews that they had to assemble in the market square. There
the Germans began shooting them, and already on the first day up to 120 Jews
