All violations of this regulation (particularly instances of groups being
joined by people who are not members of the group) will be severely punished.
The Judenrat in Warsaw
Moreover, the superior SS authorities have ordered a renovation of the
Umschlagplatz. Those who have experienced the terror of “resettlement”
from Warsaw will comprehend what these major changes, particularly those
regarding the Umschlagplatz – this exit gate towards Treblinka, mean for the
surviving Jews of the ghetto.
Letters again. Letters from the “resettled” with postmarks from Bobrujsk,
Smoleńsk,⁷⁸⁴ etc., have recently been made public in the Warsaw ghetto. The
contents of the letters – in various versions and variations – are widely commented
on. While noting this fact, we wish to indicate that this appears to be
another German attempt to make the masses comfortable, with the objective
known only to the Germans. The Jews are to believe that a certain, though
not large, group of the “resettled” is working in labour camps, and are well
treated. But even just a cursory analysis of these letters leads to the conclusion
that they are forged. The Germans shall not manage to trick us a second time.
Falenty. The infamous labour camp for Jews in Falenty near Warsaw was
closed on 5 January this year. All prisoners, human wrecks, were sent to the
Warsaw ghetto.⁷⁸⁵
The Pawiak prison. On 31 December last year the German oppressors conducted
another massacre of 16 Jews captured on the Aryan side of Warsaw.
Prior to being executed, the poor souls were inhumanly tortured. This was
why the Germans called the Jewish Hospital for an ambulance to transport
the wounded. [But] when the ambulance arrived at the Pawiak Prison the physician
was told that medical assistance was not needed. The departing ambulance
passed the arriving cemetery cart.
[57] The profaned church on Leszno Street. The church at Leszno Street 34,
which the Werterfassung turned into a venue to store furniture, is being
profaned by the Germans overtly and shamelessly. The Jewish labourers
employed in the church testify that the German directors were mocking
