contributor, member of the ŻKN and ŻOB, in 1943 leader of the combat organisation in the camp in Poniatowa.

FELD (Feldwurm), Yehuda (1906–1943) – writer, journalist, communist, editor
of the underground press, administrative manager of TOZ and Oyneg Shabes
contributor. Member of ŻOB, took part in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, perished
in the bunker at Miła 18.

FIRST, Israel – director of the Judenrat’s Economic Affairs Department, intermediary
between the Judenrat and the Gestapo, assassinated by ŻOB.

FLIGELMAN, Daniel (1920–1942) – student from Aleksandrów Kujawski;
a leading Oyneg Shabes contributor. He wrote, recorded, and probably also
copied testimonies. His works are recognisable for their exquisite style, use of
foreign languages and references to belles-lettres; they are not only valuable
historical sources, but also have literary value.

FORBERT, Leon (1880–1938) – photographer and film producer, before and
during WWI he ran a popular photography studio at Nowy Świat Street 39
(1909–1920); the Foto-Forbert studio continued to operate in the Warsaw
ghetto and some photographs developed by Oyneg Shabes members survived
in the Archive.

FRYDMAN (Friedman), Feliks (1897–1942) – painter, graphic artist, art critic,
member of the Association for the Promotion of Fine Arts (Towa rzystwo
Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych) in Warsaw, chairman of the Association of Jewish
Artists in Poland (Zrzeszenie Żydowskich Artystów Plasty ków w Polsce). In the
Warsaw ghetto, he worked in the Culture Council of the Judenrat.

FRYDMAN, Zisha Aleksander (1899-1943) – religious activist, secretary of
Agudat Israel, journalist and educator. In the ghetto he worked on the board
of the Judenrat, member of the representation of political parties at the ŻSS.
After the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising he was sent to one of the camps in the
Lublin area where he perished.
