RABINOWITZ Shie (Yehoshua) (1888–1943) – Bund member, participant in
the Revolution of 1905; before WWII he owned a roofing tile factory; provided
financial aid to YIVO; in the Warsaw ghetto he was a social worker, co-founder,
and financial supporter of Oyneg Shabes. He perished in Auschwitz.

RAJZER (Reizer) Aneta (Anita) (?–1942) – dancer, choreography and eurhythmics
teacher; she performed in the Warsaw ghetto.

RODE Józef – WWI veteran; in the Warsaw ghetto he was a functionary of
the Jewish Order Service, director of the ghetto jail during the “roundup” in
September 1942.

ROGOWY Abraham Mordechaj (?–1942) – Agudat Israel activist and journalist
of its organ, Togblat; member of the funeral society in the Warsaw ghetto
and collaborator of Gazeta Żydowska.

ROTKOP Lea (dates unknown) – teacher in the Central Jewish School
Organisation (Tsentrale Yidishe Shul-Organizatsye, TSYSHO), author of a brochure
on Roza Symchowicz, published in the ghetto by YIKOR.

ROZENTAL Roman (1897–1942) – painter, theatre director, musician; he studied
in Łódź, Warsaw, and Vienna; he was co-founder of the Start art group and
longstanding secretary of the Association for Promotion of Jewish Fine Arts;
his last exhibition was organised in the Warsaw ghetto in May 1942.

RÓŻYCKI Stanisław (dates unknown) – any information about him can
only be drawn from texts he wrote for Oyneg Shabes. They prove him to be
an experienced Polish writer, with knowledge of several foreign languages.
He left Warsaw (his native town) on 6 September 1939 and returned in the
fall of 1941. He wrote extensively on the life of Polish Jewish refugees under
the Soviet occupation and on everyday and cultural life in the Warsaw
ghetto.
