Korczak’s Orphans’ Home on 18 July 1942, addressed to Cywia, Icchak,
and Sara at Dzielna Street 34/8.

431 The stamp indicates that the Orphans’ Home was under the supervision of CENTOS. Under the pressure of the occupying authorities, CENTOS, as well as other care associations within the ŻSS, lost its autonomous status in March 1942; it was incorporated into the City Care Committee of the ŻSS as the Department of Child Care. See Sakowska, Ludzie z dzielnicy zamkniętej, pp. 67–68.
432 It was the last address of the Orphans’ Home, after it had to vacate two previous places.
