few hours a day to get warm and be protected. As many Oneg Shabbat members
were involved in those activities, the Archive contains relatively extensive
material on this topic. Knowing that most of the children described on its
pages were murdered by Nazi Germans in Treblinka and other death camps
or through hunger and disease, makes reading testimonies included in this
volume a deeply moving experience.
We hope that this documentation will be a memorial to the Holocaust,
as well as serving further research on the period.
