What has changed for us during the war
Before the war, I was very good. I lived at Ostrowska Street 13. My father
worked to support us and I went to school at Stawki Street 21.⁵⁰ In 1939 the war
broke out and I stopped going to school. We started to go hungry. We started
selling things out of the house, but that didn’t last us long. But my father
couldn’t stand it and died of hunger. I thought my mother would survive the
war, but she didn’t survive and died. Then I became an orphan. I heard from
my friends that they were signing up for the day-care. I tried to get admitted.
When I was admitted, I was very pleased. Now I’m at the facility and I have
a good time.

What has changed for me during the war
Before the war we were doing very well, my father was a painter, an entrepreneur
and had a lot of work, earning a good living. My mum had a shop
with various goods and my brothers had a hairdressing salon and earned
a good living. Every year we would go to the summer resort and I had a very
good time. In September 1939, when we returned from the summer resort
to Warsaw, the war broke out. Our flat and the shop burned down to the
ground. Then my father, [37] not being able to earn money, took it to heart too
much and died several months ago. When my father died, we were taken into
