Peretz commemoration in the building of Judaic Library
[1] On Saturday 24 May a great Peretz commemoration took place in the building
of the Judaic Library at Tłomackie Street 5. The first to perform was the
children’s choir from Kitchen No. 145, on Nowolipki Street 68, which sang
a Spring Song. Next Mr Zagan gave a speech, followed by another (ho)¹⁰⁶ mister,
and then teacher Lichtenstein spoke. He was followed by a fourth mister.
The speeches were wonderful. Many people liked them! After the speeches,
Miss Szyfman sang,¹⁰⁷ and she was followed by our children who danced 2
dances: a traditional wedding dance and a Hassidic dance. Next Comrade
Sorele sang Yiddish folk songs. Then a man read some Peretz stories. He was
followed by Mr Samberg who told some wonderful stories. At the end, we the
choir sang a couple of parting songs, and thus we ended the celebration.
