the perpetrators of an assault on forester Heinrich Skade in Turzynów
(Kutno County).

Reward in the sum of 5,000 RM
for finding the perpetrators [of the assault] on the forester
At approx. 4.30 p.m. on 17 October 1942 in the vicinity of the Turzynów⁸¹⁰ forester’s
lodge in the Bow[yc]zyny forest in Kutno County, local forester Heinrich
Skade, born on 22 January 1889 in Kabel, Calau County,⁸¹¹ suddenly encountered
at least two suspicious individuals cooking potatoes. Having fired twice
in self-defence in the attackers’ direction, the forester sustained severe wounds
to the skull inflicted with the butt of his own hunting rifle and knife. One of
the perpetrators ran north towards the Poznań-Kutno railway, while the other
one fled in the direction of Lentschütz,⁸¹² in Regierungsbezirk Litzmannstadt.
The perpetrators might be Soviet runaway prisoners of war or wanted Polish
bandits, who had been wandering for some time.
Description of one of the perpetrators:
approx. 30–40 years old, 1.70–1.75 metres tall, slim, dark worn-out
clothing,
headgear: old felt hat.
One of the perpetrators might have been shot with buckshot or wounded
by the forester in his self-defence.
A reward in the amount of 5,000 RM has been set for help in tracking
down or capturing the perpetrators. It can be received only by private persons,
not clerks, as the latter are formally obliged to pursue perpetrators of criminal
acts. The reward shall be disbursed without a legal procedure.
