The term “Council of Elders” was used in all cases for clarity. This term
refers to most of the communities, but not to all of them. Some communities,
for example, Sosnowiec, Dąbrowa, and others, were organised in the form of
Jewish communities’ committees. In Będzin, there is a board for Jewish population
affairs, whereas the communities in the former Silesian voivodship
are called synagogue communities or Jewish religious communities, etc.
